Tips and Tricks: Hair & Face Oil

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

My personal favorite!

Featuring 100% unrefined cold pressed jojoba oil, which in my opinion is the best oil for your skin. It mimics our skin's sebum, which is the natural oil all of our bodies produce, meaning that jojoba oil is the closest to our natural oil than any other carrier oil. If you have ever used pure jojoba oil on your skin, you know. However, for those of us who are using it for the first time, let me tell you that this oil absorbs so quickly into your skin when you apply it. It is surreal and confusing (in a good way). The first time I used jojoba oil, I literally stopped and stared at my face in the mirror for what felt like a couple minutes, but was probably more like 2 seconds. I was so used to heavier oils that take a minute to absorb into the skin, that this felt like a magical journey sending me into a whole new world of skincare. It was and still is magical! Then you add our essential oil blends to the mix and it will become the one part of your skincare that you will be excited for. I look forward to my oil time.

I am going to share with y'all my secret and obvious uses for this product.

Here are some tips and tricks to using our Hair & Face Oil.

Make-Up Remover:

Oils break down make-up making them a great way to take make-up off, including water-proof and stubborn lipsticks. This process does not take long and does not require scrubbing. When taking make-up off, it is important to moisturize while or after removing make-up in order to avoid dry skin and early aging. Use a couple drops onto the fingertips and rubs between the fingertips. Gently massage the oil directly onto the areas where make-up is applied. Continuously massage for about 30 seconds. Take a clean and warm damp washcloth and gently wipe away makeup. Apply a little more oil if you have sensitive or dry skin by gently massaging a drop or two, just enough to cover the fingertips, on your face.

Scalp Moisturizer:

This tip is perfect for anyone, even if you do not think you have a dry scalp, you can benefit from this as much as someone who does have a dry scalp. This product not only helps dry scalps, but can help grow stronger, healthier and more vibrant hair. This tip really depends on your hair type and how much you shower. Typically, the more you shower and the dryer your scalp is, the more often you will want to use this oil. The more oily your hair is or if your shower less than everyday, you will want to use less often. For example, I have fine hair that gets oily quicker than most and I shower twice a week. I use the hair oil once a week. I use two to three drops (One drop per finger) then rub my fingertips together and massage the oil into the scalp/roots. How you use it, will also be different from person to person. If you need more oil on your scalp and roots, you can get away with applying it to your scalp and styling your hair from there. If you are like me, where the grease shows very easily in your hair, you can shower after applying it onto your scalp. The important thing to remember with this is to let the oil hang out on your scalp for at least 20 minutes. Also, when you shower, avoid scrubbing your scalp, only wash your hair. If you need to scrub your scalp, use water only, otherwise you are scrubbing the oil out of your hair completely, which defeats the purpose. You can also use this before bed and sleep with it in overnight. Be aware that because this is oil, it might stain your sheets and PJs.

Controlling Fly Away Hairs & Dead Ends:

Even though this is a light oil, it is still denser that our individual hairs, which makes it perfect for controlling fly away hairs. Add a drop to your fingertip and massage between the fingertips. Apply to the fly aways and the ends of your hair ever so lightly and watch them disappear. Be careful with the amount of oil you use, because too much can make your hair look greasy, so use less than you think you need. This technique will also repair your dead ends!

Conditioner:

You can also use this oil to replace your conditioner. Use a couple drops on the fingertips, gently rub fingertips together and rub throughout your hair. Target your roots and ends. Rinse with warm water.

Face Moisturizer:

This is one of my favorite ways to use this oil, because it leaves your skin looking radiant and healthy along with, feeling amazing. Use a couple drops on the fingertips and rub your fingertips together. Gently apply to the skin and massage throughout. Be especially gentle around your eyes because while this skin is super stretchy, it is also an area that is pulled on a lot and becomes loose more quickly. Gently massage around the eyes trying to not pull on the skin. Any excess oil, can be gently wiped off.
